Day 2 of Expressions’ Summer Camp was action-packed! We start every morning with some games to boost our energy! We played our favorites; Zip Zap Boing & 21! Once all of us had plenty of energy, we reviewed the fundamentals of auditioning that we had learned yesterday. Before lunch, the TA’s lead some games using improv- an important skill to have as an actor! After lunch we had two very special visitors. The first being Victor Enns, a local actor, director and writer who is currently starring in a play that’s being showcased in the Fringe Festival! Victor’s expertise in character development was put to use as he gave useful pointers and advice to the young campers!
Our second guest was, little baby Kian! Reena, the owner of Expressions, recently had her baby, Kian, and decided to drop in for a little visit. The campers were thrilled to meet the baby, and the feelings were surely mutual! Although, he was pretty much asleep the whole time!
We started writing our script for our movie that we’re going to be filming on Thursday! The kids wrote the scenes in pairs. They came up with their own ideas and then put them together to write some awesome scenes! Their movie is definitely going to be a hit!
To end off the day, we played another Improv game! Just before the campers called it a day, Neil handed out brand new scripts that the kids will be performing tomorrow when we take a field trip to Shaw Communications! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog entry written by Haleigh about our exciting day!
