Schools out, the sun is shining and the EFS summer camp is now in full swing!!! Our early morning started with the name game to get to know each other. After that we went into learning the fundamentals of acting, where our high energy group learnt everything from blocking to eye lines. It was a lot to take in but the kids sure picked it up fast. Afterwards we took everything we learnt and put it into practice during scene work.

Before we knew it was time for lunch, which was spent with instructor, Neil while the TA’s went on break. After lunch we began to learn about the five stages of film production. Now that we know what goes into making a film, we went into learning about what all actors go through in hopes of being casted in a film: auditions!! For some this was a scary word but together we went through the emotions one may feel before, during and after an audition and how to get through them.

With that knowledge it was time to try it out for ourselves in our mini mock auditions. For this we had the camera, boom and lights set up and each camper went up one by one. Before we knew it was 4:30 and camp was done for the day! Can’t wait to see our little actors bright and early tomorrow morning!!
