Today was an action-packed day at the EFS summer camp! Today was the day that we started filming our movie! All the kids came prepared, with their costumes, their lines memorized, and their minds set on how they wanted their hair and makeup done, by Haleigh and I, the TA’s! They started the morning off by getting their costumes approved by our wardrobe specialist, Haleigh. Once they were changed into their costumes, they started getting their hair done by the set’s hair experts, Haleigh and I. After us hair experts worked our magic, the kids were almost fully transformed into their characters. All they needed was to get their makeup done by our very own resident makeup artist and summer camp student Aoife, then… BOOM!

They all looked exactly how they visioned their characters! Once everyone was in character, we started filming! Our film had a scary theme to it, so Neil and Sam took time last night to decorate the studio to make it look haunted, and I may say, it looked AMAZING!

The studio was filled with fake skulls, sheets with fake blood splattered over them, and fake webs hanging from the ceiling! We finished filming at about 2:30, and after we cleaned up, we had Luke Celone come and give us a workshop on Improv Acting! He taught us a lot of fun improv games, and told us some techniques of making a good improv scene!

He taught us to never say no in an improv scene, because it prevents the scene from progressing and becoming interesting! And after Luke finished teaching us about improv, the kids wanted to show him how to play “the Bean Game”. So of course we finished the day once again with a round of “the Bean Game”! And that’s a wrap for day 4! Stay tuned for the blog tomorrow, when we will premiere our film, and have a pizza party!
